There are those who post and/or publish advance information on

but with no proper follow-up

as to (approximate) "sighting information",

such as:

Height in the sky

Sky condition

(clear, cloudy, etc.)

Direction

Time(s) seen

Thin-ness of the moon’s crescent

And so forth.

Some may pre-suppose that "the new moon" could not be "seen"

during a particular evening

due to expected 'technical factors and measurements',

and, therefore,

'they' do not even "look" for it.

is to be "seen" by the naked eye

of the expected moon of, say, 1%,

that is done to simply show the beginning re-new-al of the moon

as it returns from its "dark cycle"

(of three days, usually),

and that during that particular evening

it could/should be "sighted".
